McGowans Share Thank Offering at Fort Hodge and Humboldt

Fort Hodge and Humboldt events highlight a busy weekend as Mrs R E McGowan delivered a Thank Offering address at the First Methodist Church in Fort Hodge and spoke in Humboldt Monday evening. Nearby visits include Mary Hauck in Livermore, Olga Young in Rockford, and Dr and Mrs R W E Spreng of Quincy. Legion and Auxilia ry held a Veterans Day potluck, while many locals hosted guests and enjoyed gatherings at multiple homes.

Family and guests visit and hunting weekend report

Mr and Mrs Wesley Schultz were Thursday evening callers at the August Huschka home. Weekend house guests of Mr and Mrs Ralph Stoll were Miss Marian Johnson and Naomi Strayer of Algona who were pheasant hunting on the Stoll farm Saturday. Marian is a niece of Mrs Stoll. Mr and Mrs Forest Slaikey of Earle Grove brought their granddaughter, Cheryl Zweifel, to the A. F. Zweifel home Monday evening for a week's visit. Cheryl Zweifel is also the granddaughter.
