Renwick merchants plan Christmas drawing and new lights
The Renwick Commercial club met with 16 members to discuss the annual Christmas drawing funded by local merchants. They set a minimum $10 per participating firm and anticipate improvements over last year. Lloyd Swanson was elected president, Abe Rademaker vice president, Joe Heggen secretary treasurer, and Howard Larson. A Rural Cartier mail carrier, Fred Rasmussen, retires Nov 30 1958 after four decades of service starting in horse and buggy days.

Boone Valley girls opened the 56-59 season with a 30-22 win over Twin Rivers, while the B squad fell 39-20.
