Local club notes highlight birthdays and meetings
Jauneggen hosted the Woman's Club gathering with two members present. Mrs. Codk led devotions and Mrs. Trask gave a feature. Gerhate Mayer taught the lesson and Torch for Peate was awarded. Refreshments followed. Leonard Nelson joined as a new club member. A joint birthday dinner honored Mrs. Lane and Phyllis and Bob Lane with several guests from the community. Other events include W.S.B. of the Methodist Church meeting on November 34 with Adventurous Opportunities theme, Irene Heetlaid as Worship reader, Emma Nelson in charge, Eisie Clowes handling a special feature. Alpha Kleen and Evelyn Lane hosted at the Pormightly Club last Thursday with a talk on Old Age and Social Security. Old Scouts No. 1 met at Maynard Patton’s home, enjoyed politora balls. Vernon Boosters Boys 4-H Club meets tonight with Philip Oppedahi.

Community Groups Share News and Local Visits
The Literary Guild met at Mrs Norman Peer's home with Mrs Stanley McCurry leading a lesson on Christmas seals and tuberculosis control. A Better Brush party at Mrs Dick’s home had 21 ladies. Gladys Schutt of Webster City led the program. The TYT4H Clay members and guests enjoyed a Lake Cornelia skating party with chaperones listed, then refreshments at the Doolittle home. Several local residents were noted for incidents, visits, and travels including Mrs Bert Huntley’s car mishap, Miss Gladys Schutt, and multiple family visits among residents in Corwith Britt Perry and Clarion.
