Edward Bellamy, author and humanitarian, died at home in Chicopee Falls Massachusetts at age 48 after health declined since completing Looking Backward eight months earlier. He founded The New Nation in 1891 to promote reform. survived by a widow and four children and two brothers. His funeral will be held at his Chicopee Falls home with a simple service.
