Renwick Youth Injured In Accident At Goldfield

Verle Tate and Sandra Gregory were injured in a mishap at Goldfield when two motorcycles collided on Sunday. Verle and Sandra rode on one machine while a youth from another family rode a second bike. details of injuries and condition were not fully disclosed.

Final Rites For Mrs Everett Nelson Held On Monday

Final rites for Mrs Everett Nelson were held Monday May 18 1959 at The Baptist church with Rev Glenn Emmert in charge. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery Renwick. Blake Funeral Home handled arrangements. Mrs Myla Isabelle Nicholson Nelson born October 16 1891 in Ainsworth Town. She married Everett A Nelson February 16 1916 at Goldfield Town and leaves husband a daughter Velma Charlene and two grandchildren with two brothers and a sister surviving.

School Board Accepts Remodeling Bids For Renwick Building

The Board of Education accepted bids for glass block windows at the Renwick Building after a March 9 1959 vote approved remodeling. Wisconsin Lumber Company Humboldt bid 6421 for materials. Sande Construction Company Humboldt bid 3700 for installation. Hardy Lumber Company to supply asphalt tile at 50c per tile. Work slated June 1 to July 15 1959 with potential further projects pending final decisions.

Motorcycle crash injures rider and passenger in Goldfield

Eagie Grove drove the second motorcycle. Sandra suffered cuts bruises and head lacerations when thrown from the machine. Verle escaped with minor bruises. Sandra was taken to Dr Busing es office in Goldfield and released after treatment.

Memorial Day Services Observed Across Multiple Cemeteries

Memorial Day services held May 36 1918 at Edimwood and Vernon cemeteries featured decorations of graves by Color Guard Boy Scouts and children. Wreath placements honored fallen sailors and local veterans with firing squads taps and patriotic prayers led by Rev Roy Biesemeyer and Rev L B Mitchell. Music from Boone Valley High School Band complemented the ceremonies with pledges of allegiance and guest speakers including Arnold Black Roy Norman Johnson and Jack Pohlman.

Fritz Britt chairman reports the cancer drive contributions and memorials in his area total 992 dollars and 34 cents. He extends thanks to all contributors and to fellow organizers for their cooperation.

Connell to Deliver Commencement Address on Thursday Evening

Phil E Connell, assistant to the president at The State University of Iowa, will give the commencement talk on the topic This Is Your Life. Thirty four seniors will receive diplomas, marking Boone Valley's largest graduating class to date. Baccalaureate and commencement exercises begin at p m in the High School Auditorium with public attendance invited.

Sutton Attends Osteopathic Convention Delegation

Dr Sutton will attend the 61st annual convention of the Town Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons at the Hotel Savery in Des Moines May 24 to 26. She serves as a delegate from the fourth district to the House of Delegates. The American Legion Auxiliary met May 14 with President Kepper presiding. Minutes were read and approved. Poppy day plans were discussed and bouses are to be sold May 23. Beenen's window will be decorated for Memorial Day. Mrs Fred Rasmussen and Mrs George Markman were nostesees.
