Double T Bridge Club Meets for Afternoon Bridge
The Double T Bridge Club gathered Wednesday at Mrs. Donavan Bygness’ home. A 1:30 dessert luncheon followed by two bridge sessions. Mrs. Milford McPeak won high score and Mrs. Stanley McCurry took low. The Vigorous Vernon 4 H Club held its May meeting at Linda Engstrom’s home on May 12 with sixteen members and five guests present. The group opened with the 4 H pledge, approved minutes, and a treasurer’s report. They voted to pay a bill and all convention and camp expenses, named Patricia Murray to replace Regina Gilligan at Convention if needed, moved some meetings to a better time, discussed Rally Day, and selected this year’s demonstration teams.

Mr and Mrs W J Lockwood of Burt and Mrs Arnold Clark and son Steven of Akron visited Saturday at Miss Pearl Lockwood's home. Lamont family from Albuquerque visited Amos Johnson Friday. Kenneth Potter of Clear Lake spent Mother's Day weekend at his mother Anna Potter's home. Dinners hosted at Bliss Carlson's included the Hollands and Charles Holland families from Forest City, plus Mrs Richard Nelson and son of Corwith and the Carlson children. Afternoon visitors included Mr and Mrs Fred Eden of Wesley. Arne Andersen and Clyde Olden visited Cherokee while Mr Olden stayed at the state hospital. Mrs R M Hall visited Northwood to meet her new grandson with Mr Hall then traveling to Plooming Prairie Minnesota.
