First Baptist Church and several Lutheran and other church notices detail Sunday School timings, worship services, choirs, confirmation classes, and upcoming events. Listings include St Paul’s Lutheran and John’s Lutheran details, guest speakers, rehearsals, weddings, and advance notices for Bible school and mission meetings. Riverside Bible Camp and local radio program times are noted.
Finet Methodist Church lists Paul W Neal as pastor with service details and supper by Brayton and McKim families. Gerald Brayton and Francis McKim lead lesson and devotions, Mrs Walter McPesk supervises church school at 10. Morning sermon titled Home in a Tree contrasts religion and health. Evangelical United Brethren Church led by H K Sunderman with Sunday School at 10 and morning worship. Poppy Day calls all to distribute memorial poppies. over 125000 women are needed annually.
The Renwick Womars Club met at Mrs. Minnie Saxton’s home for a Mother's Day program led by Mrs. G S Peters and Mrs. Chas Walker. A May 22 gathering at Mrs. Gerhard Mayer’s home was planned with devotions by Bertha Heggen and lesson by Mrs. Steve Palmer. A birthday party at Mrs. Lens Liscum’s honored Mrs. Liscum and Mrs. Anna Guggisberg, followed by refreshments. The Royal Neighbors welcomed three new members to be initiated June 4 in Garner Iowa. A pink and blue shower for Mrs. Ole Larson at the Nelson home featured social time and lunch, with gifts and affectionate regards.
The Lake Lutheran Ladies Aid met at Mrs. Ephriam Haaland's home last Wednesday with Mrs. Leonard Kubly as assistant hostess. Life Membership and Memoriam featured leader Mrs. Chester Edwards, a life membership awarded to Mrs. Qle Lerdal, and a program including historical notes, a solo by Charlene Edwards, readings by Mrs. Ed Oppedahl, and a Vermal trio. A lunch followed.
