Zep Crash at Lakehurst Kills 36 on First Crossing
Aboard the Hindenburg at Lakehurst New Jersey 36 people died and many were injured after two explosions shattered the airship during mooring after its first trans Atlantic crossing of the season. Investigations were to begin with officials from the Commerce and Navy departments heading inquiries while witnesses recalled screams as the gas cells ignited.
