Vernon students and faculty prepared a lavish Junior-Senior Banquet on April 30 at the Vernon Gym. Guests entered through a decorated entry into a Moonlight and Roses setting with blue stars a yellow moon and a fish pool. Sophomores served a meal, Ralph Leslie Band provided music, and speeches entertained guests.
The article notes fifth and sixth graders studying choral reading and Kipling's The Secret Of The Machines. Fifth grade reports cover Brazil and Uruguay, an ice cream party marks the Junior Safety Club's last meeting, and final tests approach as text books finish. Third and fourth grades near vacation with reading level tests and spelling papers. First and second graders view two films and exchange May baskets. Student opinions on the junior senior banquet praise the event.
