Funeral Services For Alta Foley 99 Held Here

Funeral services were held at Fenwick Methodist Church on Saturday April 26 1981 for Alta Foley age 99 with Rev B L McDonald officiating. Burial followed in Vernon Cemetery with Blake Yew Home in charge of arrangements. Survivors include seven children two grandchildren and two great grandchildren with many friends and relatives attending.

Fortnightly and ATW clubs hold Thursday meetings

The Fortnightly club met with Mex A B Gortisch and leader Mrs E E Goellach who spoke on policy. The KYN club met Thursday with Mra M Green and Miss Walter McPeak Tad Wie on a vaccine topic for Polla. Mrs Donald Clowes led the entertainment. ATW club met January with Mra Motne Yanney in Eagle Grove led by Mrs Aliret Kicen who spoke on religious art.

Mrn Ray Then and son of Burt visited Friday afternoon, with Mrs Dean James, Mr and Mrs Lucas Hunk and Mr and Mrs Roger Het land of Thornton were Friday supper guests at the Willem Fisher home at Meservey in honor of Lucas birthday. Mrs George Jutte of Web ster City visited with Mrs Henry Bram Friday. Mr and Mrs Lloyd Pool were Monday afternoon.

Surviving are one son daughter four daughters many grandchildren and great grandchildren. five sons preceded her in death.

In a special election to fill the 50th District seat after Guy Butler's death, Donald Beneke of Laurens, Republican, defeated James Hamilton of Storm Lake. Beneke won 49 votes. Hamilton 72 with 2 ballots spoiled among 73 voters in the Benwick precinct.

In accordance with Zoning Ordinance 41, all new construction rebuilding remodeling adding onto or removing from property requires a building permit. Laura M. Smith of Renwick left 60 000 for a library and 1 000 for books to the Renwick library. The will also apportioned 35 000 for Smith Park improvements 4 000 to the Methodist church 2 000 to Lunt cemetery 2 000 to Vernon cemetery 1 000 to St Paul Lutheran 1 000 to EWA church 500 to the Boy Scouts 500 to the Commercial club and 1 000 each to Humboldt County 4H groups. The library must be built within three years. Mrs Smith owned about 2 million in stock and investments.
