Promising letter from Leghey aboard a French port

A wartime diary entry describes Leghey aboard a ship in France. He notes safe arrival and quarters in a stone barracks once used by Napoleon, mild to rough seas, and a country with green fields and crowded, centuries-old streets. He mentions cheaper tobacco, overall high prices, and strict censorship on home letters. The text also advertises Vernon Theatre’s May program starring Henry B. Walthall in His Robe of Honor, a drama about judicial corruption and a redemption arc.
