Wedding of Shirley Jean Nelson in Renwick Wisconsin

The Methodist church in Renwick hosted the wedding of Shirley Jean Nelson daughter of Mr and Mrs Gerald Nelson of Renwick and Ernest Gudenschwager Jr son of Mr and Mrs Armest Gudenschwager of Hillpoint Wisconsin on Saturday March 18 The Rev Beatty McDonald officiated music by Judy Herrksen with Virginia Gimer as vocalist The bride wore a Chantilly lace gown with a chapel train and a pearl crown bouquet of white carnations carried by the bride The maid of honor was Diane Nelson and bridesmaids Judy Erwitt and Karen Tincher All wore light blue chiffon over royal blue taffeta and carried white carnation bouquets Allen Gudenschwager was best man Groomsmen were John Key and Dean Nelson Dower and ring bearers were Rhonda Lester Alice of the bride and Curtis Lester There were 150 guests The couple will reside in Orchard Nebraska after a wedding trip to Wisconsin where the groom owns Orchard Cheese Factory A Lent service notice follows about the firemen meeting moved to Friday March 31.

Friday evening March 24 at Iowa State University Ames Mr and Mrs Tom Gilmer attended the Cardinal Guild Inaugural banquet. Their son Dick junior at the University was inaugurated President of the Guild. Dr and Mrs W Long visited over the weekend in Town City at the home of their daughter, and attended baptismal services of their grandson Bobby Neely.

Funeral services for Mrs Martha Kerr at Goldfield

Funeral services for Mrs Martha Fulton Kerr 96 of Renwick were held Wednesday at 2 PM at the Presbyterian church in Goldfield. The Rev Kay Mills conducted the service and burial followed in Glenwood cemetery. Mrs Kerr died Sunday at her home after a long residence in Renwick. She was born May 22, 1874, in C Berwick and had lived here most of her life. She was survived by one brother.

Martha Fulton Toote’s Life Among Circleville and Renwick Settlers

Martha Fulton Toote, born May 22, 1874 near Circleville Ohio, remained on her birth farm until her 1907 marriage to John E Kerr of Renwick. The Kerrs lived on the Kerr Homestead two miles east of Renwick, later moving to a house on the north side of the road in 1913. A lifelong United Presbyterian, she outlived her husband and an infant son and is survived by two sisters, Mrs HR Parrett of Chillicothe and Mrs W H Peck of Circleville, and a brother, James R Tootle Sr., of Chillicothe.

Final Rites For Laura Smith 95 Held At Renwick

Laura M. Smith 95 longtime Renwick banker and Friendship Haven resident died Sunday after a lengthy illness. Born October 9 1965 in Exgleville Ohio she taught in Eagle Grove and later ran Renwick State Bank with her husband until his 1914 death. She lived in Renwick and Alrona before moving to Friendship Haven in 1951. Funeral services were held Tuesday with a 10 am prayer service and 2 pm church service in Renwick with Rev Max Goldman and Rev Beaty McDonald officiating. Burial was in Vernon cemetery at Henwick. one cousin Mrs C C Miller survives.
