Society meeting and club activities described

Society groups met and hosted events with Mrs Harold Yanney as hostess and hair care demonstrations by Mrs Max Gibson assisted by N Ben Edge. Lunch was served. The American Legion Auxiliary meets weekly at Dayton Hall to sew carpet. The W C T U of the Methodist church held a meeting with worship led by Anna Potter and a lesson by M Crawford. Children’s work highlighted by Mrs Geo Latch. Prize drawings and a family event concluded the evening with refreshments.

Birthday Party Celebrates Multiple Local Birthdays

A birthday party honored Elmer Schuetzer and his wife and mother Mrs Henry Bhuser with 500 games and prize scores for men and women. Lunch followed as Mrs Blumer and Mr Schnetzer cut their own birthday cakes. The Woman's Club and Fortnightly Club planned meetings, while Nanty Latch Marjorie Long and Max Montgomery hosted a surprise for Jane Cole on her second birthday.

Weekend visit noted by Winona couple at Vergil Erwin home

Mr and Mrs Geo Stewart of Wincom Minn spent the weekend with Vergil Erwin. Also visiting were Mr and Mrs Albert Nelson and Gladys Irene Austin and Berry Rigelsbenser, who went shopping in Massa Citt.

Local social and 4-H events noted across Vernon area

Mrs Arttauffecher and others visited Sunday at the Here man Wise home. Elias Carlson and Stanley were dinner guests at the Ole Carlson home. Fred Eden and Shirley of Wesley visited. Vergil Erwin hosted guests Friday evening. Roger McCormick visited the C E LaFavre home at Klemme. Jake Erdman and John Groh families visited, with Belmond’s Fred Loeffler and Henry Groh also present in Renwick. Eddie Erdman family hosted Sunday evening. Vernon Farm Bureau met Monday with 4-H members performing songs, talks on work and soil conservation. Myrtle Hewitt and Ralph Beem spoke. Beem on soil conservation. Other guests included Robert Nelson, Bruce, Fran Frenetr and Conring Elmer at the Join Baumgartner home. Mrs Erdman and Mrs Anderson attended a shower for Mrs Lawrence Fredrickson. Vernon 4-H stored basketball: junior team lost to Livermore 15-5. intermediate beat Grove 21-20 then fell to Livermore. Mrs Ar and Reymong Larson, Betty Ann, and Geo Grooters visited Mason City Saturday.
