A New Comet Discovered by Lick Observatory Astronomer
Advices from Prof. Schaeberle at Lick Observatory report Prof. Perrine’s discovery of two bright comets. On March 20 Greenwich time the first comet stood at RA 24h18m46.3s, Dec north 8°45′23″, with a daily motion of RA 3m44s and Dec 1′. Sudden Death of Hon. C. L. Davidson Iowa Railway Commissioner
Hon. C. L. Davidson of Hall was found dead in his Hull room at 2:50 a m Tuesday March 15. He had dined, worked in his garden, and retired to pack for Des Moines. Found by a messenger, the body lay undisturbed about an hour. Davidson, prominent Iowa figure, served a second term as railway commissioner and belonged to the Soldiers' Home board. He enlisted in the army young and reportedly died from a heart wound blamed on a spent ball. Funeral held Friday afternoon under G A R charge.
