Stockholders of the Renwick Farmers Live Stock Shipping Association will gather at the American Legion hall on Saturday March 18. Dinner is served at noon and the business meeting follows. Eli Broberg secretary.

Humboldt wins Class A at Renwick High School gym in a sectional tournament stretching Thursday to Saturday. Ottosen claims Class B title after a tight final, beating LuVerne 23 to 17 while Humboldt defeats Livermore 25 to 11 in Class A finals. LaVerne and Wesley also reach semis.

Regular confirmation Saturday 1 36 p.m. Adult confirmation Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the parsonage. Special Lenten service Wednesday 7 45 p.m. St Pauls invites you.
The Evangelical Church led by Pastor Laurence Sohn lists Sunday School at 10 am, Morning Worship at 11 am, B L C EB at 7 pm, Evening Worship at 7 30 pm, Ladies Aid on the first Wednesday, W M S on the second Wednesday, and Lenten services each Thursday at 7 45 pm.
Homer Bjornson, manager of a Humboldt implement company, has leased the Fred Freerksen building on West Main Street and will open a local implement shop once the building is ready. A. A. McCurry will manage the new store. Bjornson previously farmed near Renwick and has years of experience in Humboldt’s implement trade.
The annual school election on Monday produced a dull vote with only one candidate, Floyed Lane, elected director after receiving 34 votes. Retiring director Chas. A. Walker earned 8 votes, while 43 ballots were cast, including one spoiled ballot.
The Renwick Farmers Institute award list covers white and whole wheat breads cinnamon rolls angel food and custard cakes, cookies, pies, candies, canned foods and sewing crafts. Winners include Mrs. Clarence Xanders Mrs. Henry Bram Gladys Harvey Mable Kleve Alice Harvey Izola Ballard Tillie Minor and others across multiple categories with first second and third prizes.
Will Foley died last Sunday night at Rock Rapids and his remains were brought to Hardy for funeral services Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church. Rev. C. R. Yeeger officiated with burial in Vernon cemetery. He was 76, son of John and Mrs Foley, once ran a general store in Renwick about 45 years ago. Survived by wife and two sons, plus numerous relatives. Attendants included Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Poley and others from Hardy and Winterset.
Mr and Mrs Will Marty and children and Mr and Mrs Ed Marty and children of LaVerne visited last Sunday at the parental Dick Elmer home.

Mrs. A. Wells of Alaska arrived in Webster City last Wednesday to reunite with her children Walter Craig and Mrs. Percy Nease after 34 years apart. The Wells planned several weeks with family, delayed briefly by a west coast seamen strike, and will return to Alaska in April. Mr. Wells runs a gold mine there and talked of Northland life and berries.
Lake Two reports the marriage of Mildred Nelson daughter of Mr and Mrs Amos Nelson of Lake Township to Orville Nervig son of Omen Nervig of Hardy. The ceremony was performed at noon on Wednesday March 3 by Rev Branner with Mildred Nervig and Lewis Johnson as attendants. Nervig has taught at Lake No 9 school and is a farmer. They will reside on a farm near Hardy.
Word comes of the death of L D Leland who lived in the community about thirty years ago on the farm now owned by Otto Leutwler and family. He died at Boone on February 18 and was over eighty years old.
