Tanck Golden Anniversary Observed With Family Bash
Mr and Mrs J A Tanck celebrated their golden wedding with an open house at their Renwick Iowa home last Friday February 24 drawing about 200 guests from several states. The couple wed at Wilton Junction Iowa and have four daughters and one son with eight grandchildren. Local leaders and relatives joined in honoring the couple who have long served in church and community.

Mr and Mrs Harold Amosson have purchased a farm south of Eagle Grove and will move there this week. Harold has farmed east of Renwick for several years. Mrs Frank Lewis is spending the week at her brother’s home in Austin Minnesota helping to care for him.

Blizzard and Snow Return After Brief Warm Spell
A week of fluctuating weather brought two heavy snowstorms and a blizzard on Monday and Tuesday. About ten inches of snow fell, drifting due to wind. Trains were halted and traffic was hindered Tuesday, with roads reopening and light conditions improving by Wednesday.
Local Telephone Girl Transferred to Waverly
Doris Thompson, longtime operator in the local Bell Telephone office, will leave next Sunday for Waverly to work as an operator. Marjorie Cook will fill her place. Thompson has served nine years, earning a reputation for efficiency and friendliness, and will be missed by many friends who celebrate her promotion.

Neighbors Honor Marx Schwyters With Farewell Party
A large gathering of neighbors and friends met Friday evening at the Schwyters home in Renwick to bid them farewell as they moved from the farm to the W. B. Persons estate house. Dick Hefty and family also moved to the Baumgartner farm where the Schwyters had lived for years. A big family dinner was held at Floyd Lane's home for Miss Elinor Woods and Miss Rosemond Fairman of Sibley visiting relatives.

John Zimmerman traveled to New Glarus Wisconsin and returned with milk cows and heifers for himself and Carroll Gillespie, plus the prize Brown Swiss bull from the University of Wisconsin Madison to head the herd.
