Goldfield Band Entertains Vernon Audience

Vernon School welcomed the Goldfield band directed by Ralph L. Drollinger on Tuesday February 21. The program featured The Foot Sifter march American Frontier and The King and I with two songs by the girls' quartet Sandra Whyte Wanda Jones Lois Christensen and Wanda Robinson. Chordettes members Mark Axon Dick Schneider and Don Abrams arranged numbers while Perry Stakien served as emcee.

Vernon Cheerleaders Honor Five Senior Boys

The Vernon cheerleaders honored five graduating seniors at a February 22 pep meeting before the Sectional Tournament with Stanhope. Awards cited top scorer Pat Gilligan best sport Jim Zweifel best fighter Jim Guy best free throws Burnis Wilhelm and best rebounder Larry Robb, with student yells after.

New Suits For Boys' Basketball Team Debut

White and green trimmed uniforms were bought for the boys' basketball team and worn for the first time at Webster City during the Boys' Basketball Sectional Tournament against Stanhope. The improved appearance drew many comments from spectators.
