A senator close to the president predicts a third call for 100000 volunteers within two weeks, for a siege of Havana. The plan envisions about eighty regiments into twenty five brigades, three army corps, and a large support staff, with total force near 400000.
Madrid reports a rumor that Manila has capitulated though ministers deny news. A Madrid correspondent cites Senor Romero Guion claiming Gen. Augusti transferred authority to Gen. Sanderes to govern Manila, with plans for a gortia and rapid accretions between remaining islands.
A Sunday morning blaze wiped out most of Park City Utah’s business district. Only Welch Driscoll Buck store remains. hotels saloons shops post offices banks currency exchanges and key buildings like Opera House city hall and AOU W building were destroyed. Many residents left homeless with only their clothes.
