Western Electric installers are in Renwick this week installing central office equipment to handle proposed long distance equipment and meet the demand for increased long distance usage.
DHIA report for May by Wright County DHIA supervisor. Herds tested 247 cows in milk 3265 cows dry 39 total cows tested 365 average production per cow 34 pounds milk per cow. Dollar figures: $6.8 kbs BF.
The Rev. Paul WL Neal, pastor of Renwick and Hardy Methodist Churches, is granted a leave of absence to attend school in Evanston Illinois. He plans to complete residence work for the degree in religion, with his wife remaining in Renwick this summer. He holds a BA from Hamline University and previously earned a BD from Garrett Biblical Institute.
The Pulpit Committees of two Iowa Methodist churches will announce the July Sundays on which regular services will be held, outlining the schedule for caring for the aged and maintaining worship.
Monday's primary in Renwick saw 114 votes cast with Republican slates led by Wilson 104 and Beamsley 94 for governor. Democratic picks include Seeman 41 and Switzer 17 for state offices, with several county and township roles also decided.
The Northwestern Bell Telephone Company announced rate changes to take effect June 21, 18458. Manager H. B. Bockhaus said long distance earnings within the state require adjustment due to higher costs and larger investments since the war. Some rates rise 5 to 20 cents. others stay the same. A uniform three minute initial period will apply across call classes.
In the county election E. B. Bradley defeated Walter Wayne Hansen for sheriff while Harvey L. Bogaard beat Dr. C. A. Newman for coroner. Bogaard elected as others unopposed and William S. Beardsley won the county governorship against Robert D. Blue.
