Huntley Patterson Wedding Held at Overbaugh Home

A prett y home wedding took place Thursday afternoon at 2 at the Overbaugh home. Miss Louise Huntley became the bride of Verle Patterson with Rev. E. D. Hart performing the single ring ceremony. The couple will reside on a farm near Algona after a short wedding trip to Minnesota.

Theatre Changes Hands New Management July 1

The Ren Theatre has been purchased by Mr and Mrs HL Kuhfos of Hubbard and will take possession July 1. The Gorhams furnished Renwick with good shows, and the new manager will likely continue. Harry Huddlestone has operated the theatre since the Gorham family left for service.

The annual Methodist Sunday School picnic is planned for Smith Park this Sunday. If weather turns unfavorable the picnic will be moved to the following Sunday.

I L Smith Dies at 59 in Hardy Funeral Monday Held

I L Smith farmer of Hardy died Friday from a heart ailment at Mercy Fort Dodge after Mayo Clinic visit. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at home and 2 at the Hardy Methodist Church. Rev E D Hatt preached. Burial was in Luverne cemetery. He left a wife Mamie Zwiefel and ten children among 27 grandchildren along with siblings and many relatives.

Drivers Licenses Issued Here This June Dates

Licenses will be issued at Renwick Town Hall on Saturday June 19 from 1 30 to 8 PM. Similar hours apply on Wednesday June 23 at Thor and Friday June 25 at Hardy. Renewal details follow last week’s Times. Renewals available at the Dakota City sheriff's office any day until July 3.

The 1949-44 fiscal year auto use tax stamps go on sale in all internal revenue and post offices today. Mrs T B Wehman and daughter Jean visit Ida Grove family.
