A rugged group rode out from Renwick toward a ford between High View and Sleaford, camping beside a farmstead with a thatched fence and a lone cow. Rites Held For Leona Maurer at Renwick Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Leona D. Maurer were held Saturday at Renwick United Brethren Church with Rev. Laurage Streymeier officiating. Burial followed in Vernon Cemetery near Renwick. She was born February 26, 1898 in Lucerne Iowa to Willem and Mary Ciperman. Survived by husband Samuel Maurer five children two sons in Oklahoma City and Decatur Alabama and one in Santa Monica California, sister Mary Sorenson Algona, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceded in death by husband Samuel Maurer and several siblings. Death occurred July 22 at the Rosary Ann Home Eagle Grove. She was 70 years, 4 months and 22 days.
