The town of Renwick votes on a ten year inter connection contract with Iowa Public Service on July 26. If approved a line from IPS 33 000 kv on highway three to Renwick would be built with transformers at highway three and near the Renwick Light Plant. Estimated cost 99 453 dollars if transformers are rented. buying later could cost about 15 000 dollars. Polls run 8 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily.

Westinghouse Awards $500 Scholarship to Ames Student
Tom Roseberry son of Mr and Mrs Darwin Roseberry earned a $500 Westinghouse scholarship for his junior year at Ames. He completed two years at Eagle Grove Junior College. It is the first Westinghouse award of its kind in Iowa with four total scholarships given in the state.

County Health Nurse Honored At 6 30 Dinner Thursday
Humboldt County Public Health Nurse Miss Laverne Kreutzkampf was entertained at a 6 30 dinner on Thursday July 5 in the home of Myrt le Hewitt County Extension Home Economist. School Boards Fail to Agree on Vernon Old District Assets
Vernon Township and Boone Valley boards met July 11 to divide assets and liabilities of the Vernon Consolidated School District by assessed value. The Vernon board valued the main building at 85000, a house at 34900, another at 4500, and land at 1000, totaling 95400, excluding buses. Boone Valley urged a compromise. Vernon refused. an appraisal committee will be formed with members from both boards and the county superintendent Frances Messer.
