At the Vernon Theatre on February 4 the Tamburica Orchestra led by Mr. Sarich performs Croatian music celebrating liberty and culture. Savich offers a talk on Croatian costumes and aspirations as the troupe showcases vibrant melodies and striking costumes.

The Croatian Orchestra at Somr over Holliday Chautauqua drew strong praise for the small Taraburica instrument. A Minnesota musician admired its exquisite sweetness and proved that size does not determine musical quality. He pledged not to doubt instrument limits again.

Local Residents Make Short Travel Flurries

Mrs F J Nlassi visited Iowa City last Tuesday to see an eye specialist. Henry Vlassie and Jacob Stautfacher traveled to Wisconsin Friday afternoon to visit relatives. Emma Walkner and Will Black went to Livermore then to Quoson for Rebecca work before returning Saturday. Dr Waterman took Tom Rass to Algona for an appendicitis operation last Saturday. Lon Overbaugh and his wife returned home Saturday noon after an extended East visit. Mable Hall and Ella Heller from Webster City spent Sunday with Minnie Stautfacher. Henry Geigel was called to Wisconsin by his ailing father and left Thursday night.
