A brief note describes a Literary Guild gathering with birthdays celebrated and prizes awarded. Walter MePeak earned the travel prize while Kenneth Gilespie and Varty Liscum attended. A religious tune was played and a turnout marked the event.
A belated birthday gathering was held Monday afternoon for Mrs Hetty Rose with a delicious lunch. Guests included Mr and Mrs Wim Nissen, Mrs Elizabeth Kisgsi, Mrs S G Maurer, and Mr and Mrs Howard Naseh. In Des Moines, Mrs Lloyd Swanson visited Jensen at Jefferson Hospital after a trip. Algona residents shared notes of visits and greetings during the week.
Vernon township 4 H clubs hosted a Sunday gathering at the ElmER home with 4 H members and guests from Vernon and nearby towns. Visitors included Mrs Elizabert Elsasi Mr aid Mrs Virgil Erwin and Alrs Simpson who returned later to Sherbourne Allan after visiting the Virgil Ervin home. Local families such as Baumgartner Nelson and Elmer were noted as attendees with Dick Elmer of Hebron and Joann and Jerry Branse hosting the Monday evening event.
