Farm Adjustment News Digest on Recovery Program
A digest of current developments in agricultural recovery progam. Reports from local hog buyers and small processors deducting processing tax from prices provoke Secretary Wallace to warn against penalizing farmers. He urges farmers to refuse deals that reduce sale price for the tax. A three member panel will plan marginal land use to restore game birds and create jobs, with aims to profit farmers and up to 50 million acres for eventual use. If farmers cooperate, farm incomes could rise by over 800 million dollars for 1933 and 1934 through price improvements, market agreements and loans.
