The Ely N Club met Thursday at Mrs. L W Heer’s and Mrs. L N Henriksen led topics. Mrs. Robert Heide provided music and Mrs. Vern Harris organized entertainment. The next meeting is Thursday January 24 at Mrs. Vern Harris’s home.
The Vigorous Vernon 4-H Club met at Darene Zweifel's home with 14 members, one teacher, and one guest. Officers were installed after the business meeting. Darlene Zweifel demonstrated baking powder biscuits and Lola Friday demonstrated canning chicken. Talks on cereals and serving ideas followed by songs and a lunch. Evangelical United Brethren Youth Fellowship met afterward with devotions by Robert Harty, lesson by Marvin Pearson, games, and lunch hosted by Mrs Hefty and Mrs Ogan.
The WSCS meeting included devotions by Mrs. Ruth Kitley and a lesson review by Mrs. Lucille Howard. Funds were to be raised by talents, with the side raising more to host a Christmas party. A PTA card party at Hardy school was announced for January 21 featuring Five Hundred, hosted by local families. Several Hardy youths were among sixteen Humboldt County inductees, Curtis Weyer and others, who left for the armed forces.
John Baardson and Cecil Pedersen are among guests at Sun supper at the Paul Weyer home. Several groups visited Burnside and Boone homes. T40 club hosted at Mrs Jewell’s with a March of Dimes donation. Various birthday and family visits noted, including Neal Clancy home, Wayne Peterson, Edward Anderson, and H J Sunderman gatherings. Community events show frequent hosting and travel among local families.

The regular Town Council meeting held January 7 1952 was attended by Mayor Packard and council members Conn McGowan McCurry Nelson and Latch with Gugger absent. December 3 1951 minutes were read and approved. Bills presented include Iowa Electric Supply Co Mid County Petroleum Eureka Fire Co Wright County Exline Diesel and M W Bell Tel among others totaling several hundred dollars.
The finance committee approved bills including Renwick, Times printing refunds for Mrs. RB and Lyle Packard, and various snow removal charges. County and state taxes, sales taxes, and insurance withholdings were recorded, along with shop and supply costs from Crescent Electric and Sebastian Diesel Ey. The meeting authorized a cigarette license for Madeyn Ashpole and adjourned after routine motions.
