Church Study Group Plans Gala Dinner and Village Visit
The WSWS United Brethren group met on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs George Mills leading devotions and the lesson Understanding is Better than Silver. A poem and song were shared and the class discussed Clock and Calendar Christians focusing on Church Loyalty. They voted to relocate the study group to Mrs James H Kellinghegring house at 910 with a gala dinner on January 11. Kenneth Kraft and family, along with Carolyn Helmke, were visiting the Kraft home.

Supper at Orten Lerdal home in Goldfield for Mr Lerdal and son Duane, followed by Junior college basketball in Eagle Grove. Council Proceedings January 6 1950 in The Town
The Regular meeting opened with Mayor Garrison and all councilmen present. The December minutes were approved. Fritz Beitz submitted his resignation as town clerk and George Mills was appointed to the post. Various bills were read and approved. A bond insurance assignment and a transfer of 10,000 from utilities to street construction were approved. Meeting adjourned with Mills signing as Town Clerk.
