Iowa Farmers Urged To Eradicate The Magpie Threat

Prof Homer R Dill of the University of Iowa Zoology notes the magpie, an attractive bird of prey, has become widespread in Iowa. He says it preys on eggs and young birds, livestock, and injured animals, offering little value in exchange. Last year the species appeared across the state, especially in the north and west near Cedar Rapids areas, with many birds shot and specimens sent to the university museum. the question remains whether it will reappear this year.

Paying by Check Saves Losses

Most people, from necessity, receive and pay out money. They should have a checking account, so they may know just where their money goes. A person, who does not pay by check, is apt to become careless and is pretty certain to have losses in different ways.
