Miss Vera McCurry and Carroll Packard Married in Fort Dodge
Miss Vera Lorraine McCurry daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy McCurry and Carroll Whitey Packard son of Mr and Mrs W H Packard were married last Thursday afternoon December 31 at 3 o clock at the Methodist parsonage in Fort Dodge with Rev J F Hutchinson officiating. The couple attended by Mr and Mrs Lyle Packard. The bride wore a blue silk crepe dress and blue accessories. The bridegroom and his attendant wore dark business attire. Both are longtime residents with Mrs Packard a Renwick high school graduate class of 1932. They are at present living with the bride’s grandfather W W McCurry. A wedding dinner was held last Friday at noon at the home of the bride’s parents.

Ten Men Escape Serious Injury In Bus Crash
A bus carrying ten members of the Golden Gate Band of Ames from Spencer to Marshalltown crashed into a ditch and overturned on highway No. 60, half a mile north of Renwick. All escaped serious injury but were cut and bruised, with instruments thrown over them. Slippery road conditions and a preceding vehicle slowing down contributed to the accident. The band, Craven’s organization, hired Rex Simpsons to take them to Marshalltown for a Saturday engagement.
