Numerous households across the area hosted New Year Eve and Day dinners and visits. Guests included the Nelson, Rasmussen, Hanson, Harvey, Bergland, Gangstead, Lenning, Peterson, and several Sevenson families from Belmond, Thor, Renwick, and surrounding communities.
New Year's Day dinner guests included Mr and Mrs Jess Fisher and Emily at the Miller Wergelais near Hardy. Orris French and Ona Mare Engstromt visited the Leonard Birn puiner home near Hardy. Sunday visitors at the Orris French home were Ed Erickson of Clarion and Anna Peterson. Additional New Year’s Day dinners featured the Nose Hatty home with Francis Krause Jo Ann and Jerry Chester Ugas and others. Mrs Norman Carson returned home Sunday after visiting relatives in Tacotta ND over the holidays, joining Mr Lirson on Wednesday. Pred Gugisbure’s home hosted Ar and Mrs Jake Stauffacher Art Stauffacher and others including Dr and Mrs Roger Olson and baby. Dick S Hefty and family were guests at Jim McGelwan for Sunday supper. Clarence Hefty of Adel and Strowley of Des Moines spent the weekend with Rose Hefty and Bob Lastu at Quon ye Point, Rhodesland, after holidays with Fjord Lane family. Art Johnson of Kiemme was a weekend guest at the E Johnson home.
