Hardy MYF Guests Of Renwick Group Event

The Hardy MYF was invited to meet with the Renwick group Sunday evening. Devotions were led by Penny McCurry and the lesson by Carol Arne. After the regular meeting both groups were entertained at the parsonage by Mr and Mrs Myron Clancy and Rev and Mrs Biesemeier.

House Warming For Elmer Schnetzer Family Hosts

Relatives of Mr and Mrs Elmer Schnetzer held a potluck house warming at their home on Sunday with guests including Mr and Mrs Fred Kraft and family of Eagle Grove, Mr and Mrs George Schnetzer of LaVerne, and several Kraft and Swan households. Various neighbors and friends attended a series of gatherings from Friday through Monday, with dinners, board club, card party, and a Gob gasbord at Humboldt, plus afternoon coffee guests in Humboldt and Des Moines connections.

John F. and wife were honored at an open house on their 40th wedding anniversary held in the Goldfield schoolhouse multi purpose room on Sunday February 14. Hosts were their children Loren, Donald, and I Stanley Schipull, with many relatives and friends from across Iowa attending.

Open House for Maurice Nissen Celebrates 25th Wedding

More than 200 guests gathered at the Nissen home to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Maurice Nissen. Attending were relatives from Eagle Grove Goldfield LaVerne Mason City Humboldt Livermore Armstrong Corwith North Platte Neb Iowa Falls Har dy Dows DeWitt and Renwick. The couple wed Feb 16 1935 in the Freerksen home farm near Kanawha with Rev D H Prescher officiating. A three tier cake, open faced sandwiches and coffee were served. Hostesses were Mrs Wilbur Nissen Mrs Herman Nissen Mrs Robert Watson and Mrs Orval Hoffman. A tape recording was made to preserve memories.

Boone Valley Girls Fall to LuVerne in Sectional Loss

Boone Valley’s girls bowed out in the first sectional round at Corwith, losing to LuVerne 44 to 25. The Bobcats finish 2 and 16, trailing early and never catching up as LaVerne led 36 to 12 after three quarters. Maebelle Maass led LaVerne with 28 points while Sharon Gentiner and Marilyn Schmidt contributed 10 and 9 for Boone Valley.

Peggy Pauline Ott daughter of Lake City and Myron LeRoy Haugland son of Renwick and Lakefield Minn were married at 2 pm in the Epworth Methodist church Fr Dodge. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev W E Gillett. Peggy as a pediatrics nurse at Kirstein clinic Ft Dodge and Myron at Fareway Creston will reside there.

Band members to Fort Dodge farewell clinic trip

Seven senior band members accompanied by Mr Baessler and Mr Canfield attended a Friday afternoon clinic in Fort Dodge led by Mr Don Jacoby. An evening concert featured the Ft Dodge senior high band with Jacoby as guest soloist and Dr Karl King directing.
