The Renwick Ind. School will dismiss Thursday afternoon December 28 at 2 20 pm for Christmas vacation. The Vernon County School will dismiss Friday afternoon December 24 at 1 15 pm for their Christmas vacation. Both schools resume classes Monday morning January 4.
College students from Town State College at Ames spend the Christmas holidays at home. Renwick's girls and boys basketball teams fell to Luverne in a Tuesday night doubleheader. Girls started strong but trailed 12 to 12 at half and 25 to 16 after three quarters before a 38 to 25 final. Boys also suffered a setback in the night’s top game.
A bundled list of names and acts outlines a Methodist Sunday School Christmas program with recitations prayers and exercises. Participants include Judy Gillespie Kathy Norris Roxie White Mary Ann Cole and many others performing readings songs and plays centered on Christmas themes.

AIL Remsick announces closures of business places and stores Friday evening Christmas Eve and all day Christmas Day. The post office operates only at train times on Christmas Day. No Ten Theater show on Christmas Eve, but a fine show is scheduled for Christmas Night on December 25.
Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Foley quietly observed their sixty second wedding anniversary at home Sunday with new friends calling on them.
Renwick grade school presented a Christmas operetta Monday evening under the direction of Mrs. Charles Rimmer. The mixed chorus boys quartet and the band performed musical numbers, and the audience praised the excellent performance of each student.
A local notice notes Shirley Rasmussen presents a poetry reading on Monday evening at a radio station WHO. The event highlights Rasmussen as the daughter of Mrs Rasmussen and marks a community reading broadcast.
Large attendance reported at the Methodist Church Sunday evening for a Christmas program by the church choir and guests. Mrs Hari Gimer played organ and Miss Beulah Fanner the piano, with printed scenery by Pastor Rev C El Custer enhancing the performance.

The Renwick Public Library will close for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day but will stay open Wednesday evening December 22 and 29 from 7 to 9 pm. A dinner Sunday honored the 23rd wedding anniversary of a son-in-law and daughter with many local guests from Belmond Alexander Harwood Fort Dodge and Goldfield. Additional notes record visits and hospital stops in Ft. Dodge and return trips by local residents with Keene New Hampshire visitor Vivian Rockwood arriving to stay with R. E. McGowan and friends.
Vernon boys basketball teams traveled to Livermore on Tuesday and lost both games. The junior team led early but Livermore pulled away in the second half to win 45 to 27. The varsity game stayed close in the first half, ended 19 to 17 in Livermore’s favor, and Livermore pulled away in the second to win 44 to 32.
Humboldo County wool growers are invited to meet Tuesday at 1 30 p m in the American Legion hall in Humboldt. C W McDonald sheep specialist and Glen Birlingmair of the Iowa Sheep and Wool Growers Assoc will discuss management problems wool carding and marketing. The county association will be discussed. Ladies invited. Coffee pie and ice cream served.
Mrs Ernest Heimka and Philis, Mrs Nellie Matheson, Shirley, Donald Tesdahl, and Charles Espe joined Fi Dodge shoppers on Saturday. Mr and Mrs J E L Jones and family visited Sundari at the Hofmeister home in Belmond.
