Bertha Elizabeth Potter Theil has been chosen to represent Renwick in the Humboldt centennial parade planned for August. A Humboldt County resident all her life, Theil has lived in her current home for fifty years. Mrs Burr M Packard suffered a stroke Monday afternoon and is improving slowly. friends wish her a speedy recovery. Renwick Commercial Club Plans float for Humboldt centennial

The Renwick Commercial Club met July 29 with B E McGowan chairing in Harold Goettsch’s absence. Members voted to close all business places Thursday August 29 for Humboldt County Centennial. Discussions covered signs reading Renwick for display on highways. Next meeting set for August 26 with wrestling on the schedule.

Balloting for Renwick Princess ended Saturday at 6 pm with Evile Ballard chosen as princess and Roselyn Attig as runner-up. The princess will appear in Humboldt centennial parade on August 29.

Algona Youth Group Attends Picnic and Wedding News

Sunday activities include a Baptist youth group picnic at Call State Park August 9 and a wedding for Willis L. Wilson and Mrs. Leo Mimbach in Renwick. American Legion Sponsors Magazine Drive and Portable Beds

The American Legion Auxiliary of Humboldt County launches its second annual magazine subscription campaign offering portable hospital beds and detachable fracture frames to aid home mending. Beds will be housed in Bode, Humboldt, Renwick and surrounding rural areas for temporary home use free of charge, with transportation as the only cost. Representatives, authorized by local officers, will explain the plan as a community project not a donation request, seeking support through magazine subscriptions rather than gifts.

Renwick School Opens 1946 47 Term Sept 4

Renwick School prepares for the 1946-47 term starting September 4 with summer renovations complete. Floors resealed, halls painted, rooms redecorated, new playground equipment ordered, five school buses on the way, hot lunches to be served, and football practice set for August 24 at 1 30 p m. Superintendent Montgormery urges students from third to twelfth grade to register August 28 or 30 and obtain books. faculty roster to be announced next week.
