Birthday Party And Lodge Meetings In Town

Mrs. Chas. Trask hosted a second grade birthday party for her son Harold’s eighth birthday Tuesday. The Rebekah Lodge met Thursday at 1 pm with a Love Rally at 2:30 attended by Humboldt lodge. Humboldt ladies presented the emblem of the Rebekah Assembly in a ceremonial heart and helping hand. Marion Lipski spoke on hula dancing and performed island numbers. Hostesses were Mrs. Emma Walker Mrs. Rose Hefty and Mrs. Bunna Flogstad. The Vigorous 4-H Club held its last meeting August 6 at Leone Rummens home with eighteen members, pledges, minutes, demonstrations and talks, followed by lunch.

4 H Show Prep Brightens Humboldt County Fair

Humboldt County 4 H girls have prepared 30 clothing demonstrations to be presented at the Humboldt County fair. The youth organization aims to showcase sewing and fashion skills and engage fairgoers with hands on displays.

4-H Leaders Expand Program Reach With Enrollment Rise

World Council of Churches Plans August Assembly at Northwestern

The World Council of Churches will meet August 25 31 on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus. Delegates from 161 member churches in 45 countries will attend with 600 official delegates 600 visitors 150 consults and 1600 general attendees plus others. The theme Christ The Hope of the World guides discussions on faith evangelism social problems international affairs intergroup relations and laity. Rev Coster and Mrs Custer will attend as general visitors and join plenary sessions in late August.

Mr and Mrs Lynn Knights of Gold were Sunday dinner guests at Floyd Kelling's home. Gary returned home after a visit there. Roy Kelling visited Sunday evening at the Kelling home. Mr and Mrs Howard Larson visited Sunday evening at Maurice Nissen's home. Maurine Nissen visited last week at Maude Freark's home. In Kanawha sep, Mr and Mrs Gay Nerem and family and Mr and Mrs Marion Hoveland and family are vacationing in northern Minnesota this week.

Social Visit Roundup at St Benedict and Eagle Grove

Mr and Mrs August Huschka hosted Sunday dinner at the Al Rosenmeyer home in St Benedict with the Huschka family. Dan Halligan of Cor attended Monday dinner at the Huschka home. W G Green of Wes aided the Huschka family Sunday evening at the Harold Green home. Stanley Nervig and sons and Robert Detumering of Eagle Grove visited Floyd Kelling’s home Tuesday afternoon. Floyd and family attended a birthday party at John Stigh’s in Eagle Grove and Mrs Floyd Kelling joined a Friday shower at Therman Bark’s home in Eagle Grove honoring Karena Knotsen of Badger.
