Renwick News Local visits and family travel notes

Mrs May Willis returned Saturday to the home of her daughter Mrs Roy Biesemeyer after months with a son in Wichita Kansas. Mr and Mrs Wayne Christofferson and children visited relatives in Milford over the weekend. Carlene Arends returned with them to visit until Thursday evening. Darwin Pohlman visited in the John Kiley home last Monday. Mr and Mrs Darwin Pohlman of Clarion visited Sunday in the Jack Pohlman home. Mrs Marie Kiley was a Sunday evening visitor at the Clark Kiley home.

Annual Flower Show Promises Colorful Entries in Renwick

The twenty third annual flower show, sponsored by the Fortnightly Club of Renwick, unfolds Saturday August 17 at the Masonic Hall. Entries accepted 9:00 to 12:00 noon with exhibit viewing 1:30 to 8:00 p.m. Prizes awarded for top adult and child exhibitors. Ribbons for first through fourth in each class. Silver tea 2:00 to 6:00. Sections cover gladioli, zinnias, petunias, asters, marigolds, snapdragons, roses, African violets, and children’s arrangements. Specimen blooms must be grown by exhibitor. Doors open 9:00 a.m. for placing exhibits. Judging begins 12:30 p.m. Show closes at 8:00 p.m. and removal after.
