Quotas Set For Lutheran World Action Campaign
Lutheran Churches across America join the National Lutheran Council in a 4 million dollar drive this year for spiritual reconstruction abroad. On May 20, Pauls GL Lutheran Church unites with 10,060 congregations for a day of prayer and support led locally by Rev. Paul Lum of St. Pauls Renwick and St Johns Corwith. The drive aims to raise 600 and 300 dollars respectively from local churches, with regional talks on World Action needs and postwar aid plans spanning Europe and Asia including Poland Czechoslovakia Austria Germany Hungary Romania and others. Domestic aid covers veterans and immigrants, while several overseas missions in Africa Palestine India China Japan and New Guinea seek funds. The effort is coordinated with the National Lutheran Council and Lutheran World Action.
