Frits Britt Undergoes Major Leg Surgery in Ft Dodge

Fritz Britt cashier of Renwick Savings Bank had his left leg removed just above the knee at Mercy Hospital Ft Dodge on Wednesday morning. He had prior checkups a week earlier for circulatory trouble and low blood flow in the leg. The operation aimed to restore circulation after it could not be regained. The Timer with Fritz wishes him a speedy recovery and a return home soon.

Boone Club Meets With Mrs Huntley

Boone Township Woman's club met Thursday afternoon at Mrs Marion Huntley's home. A fashion note answered roll call and Mrs Oscar Engstrom spoke on fashions in sewing with garments up to a year old. Members shared pictures for a guessing game. Six guests attended and a tray lunch was served.

The Rebekah Lodge held its regular meeting on Tuesday with several Bradgate Lodge members as guests. Mr and Mrs Darrell Matteson and Everett Netoon were listed for dinner along with Graghver, Me and Sr Bases Lawson.

Church Youth Rally and School Institute Schedule

Senior Youth Fellowship plans Sunday transport to Forest City Youth Rally. Church activities include senior and junior choir practice, confirmation classes, Vacation Church School Institute in LaVerne, and a Brotherhood Rally in Corwith. Evangelist Knowles to speak at Eldora Preaching Rally Thursday night. Sunday services feature Bible study at 9:90 and worship at 10:30 with Lord's Supper and a 10:50 sermon on The Triumphant Day Of The Resurrection.

Darwin Maurer Accepts Appointment With Aeronautical Center

Darwin I Maurer son of Mr and Mrs C Maurer of Renwick has accepted as International Liaison Officer for the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City He is a 1982 Renwick high school graduate and attended Cedar Falls Town State Teachers College He has served as band instructor in Iowa and taught in Kansas City He has worked with the FAA during WW II and will host and guide visiting officials and arrange housing for trainees at the Center The Center housed 240 students and 41 visiting countries last year

Pocahontas Relays Highlight Boone Valley Track Efforts

Boone Valley entered multiple events including the two mile relay mile medley mile relay open mile and sprints at Pocahontas Telays. The Bobcats failed to place in any event and scored no points while about 18 teams competed in the Close B bracket. LaVerne narrowly trailed Bayard by about one third of a point for second place.

The American Legion Auxiliary meetings report a $50 donation to the library. Easter clothing was sent to a long-time assigned child now eighteen. A thank you letter from the library board was read. Sixth grade Easter gifts for Woodward were prepared. Members plan cookie distribution to a hospital on April 21.

Ladies Model Dresses For Town and Country Day

Ten women joined Iowa State University Extension lessons in Clarion led by Mrs. Geraldine Steel. Over three weeks they cut and completed two dresses, to be shown May 3 at the Tener International church, after workshops and events with local residents and clubs.
