Pigeon express brings canary to sick girl in hospital
Margaret Gillen, 10, patient at St. Clare's hospital in New York, recovering from two operations, received a canary sent by J N Ding Darling. A pigeon carried the bird from Elizabeth, New Jersey, perched on the pigeon's back in a small aluminum Pullman case, flying about 20 miles against strong winds in 49 minutes without incident.
