The American Legion of Livermore presented the flag to the Humboldt County Park Board for flying at Livermore Park. Ernest Macha, board chairman, accepted and spoke. Attending were Regwick and band members plus Mr and Mrs Keith Baessler, Mr and Mrs Kenneth Burk, Mr and Mrs Ernest Macha, and Port Dodge visitors William Borchardt and family and Ralph Johnston family. The group later joined Mrs Paul Heggen to Fort Dodge for the District Federated Women's Club meeting, and Mrs Engstrom visited her mother Mrs C Heggen.
A coffer was held in honor of Loella Swiger of Lu Verne with attendees including Vicki Swiger Lucille Stiel of Luverne and Mrs Katherine Merkmann among others.
Several ladies from Bumboldt Rebekah Lodge attended the regular meeting in Renwick. Names listed include Maxine Landen Thelma Belt Lola Welvik Harriet Lee and Caroline Madsen with traveling attendees.
Sunday afternoon Mr and Mrs Ron Esichoff and family visited at the home of Mr and Mrs Harlan Eekbolt as Britt.
Mr and Mrs Loyd Swanson and Mr and Mrs Howard Smith of Webster City attended a dinner at the Lamar Inn in Eagle Grove to honor the wedding anniversary of their parents.
Linda Lane, 18, of Renwick will represent Hubbardt County at the Iowa Dairy Princess Contest. She earned the right in a local dairy event last summer and will compete against two other county or breed princesses for the Iowa Dairy Princess title and college scholarship. The winner advances to state fairs and begins appearances promoting milk products for Iowa dairy farmers, with the Iowa princess set to compete for the American Dairy Princess crown in June. Lane is a Boone Valley Community High School graduate active in music, drama, sports, FHA and more.
Boone Valley celebration Friday October 8 featured Renwick School host David Palmer as master of ceremonies. Crown presented to Kris-Bressler by football co captain Dele Reithier. Parade led by Boy Scouts and marching band. Boone Valley beat Corwith Wesley 3 to 6 at 7 PM, then danced to music by the Tron Wood Group of Mason City.
Des Moines area notes report Jeannieve Humboldt high surgery for arthritis at Iowa Methodist Younker Hospital. Rev Don Glazier family traveled to Graettinger, visiting father H R Glazier in Estherville Holy Family Hospital after a stroke. Marie Goertsch enters Bermond Hospital. Boone Valley Marching Band performed at Kossuth County Hand Festival in Algona on October 2. Beth Martin named Queen Candidate for Boone Valley Band. Albert Nelsons visited Ventura Sun.
Mr and Mrs Jay Huntley and families plus Mr and Mrs Bills Machs Mr and Mrs Neal Hoyt and Kendra Kevin attend Neal Hoyt birthday observance. Leslie Tommy and Eric also join in the celebration with neighbors and friends on the event day.
A celebration at the Charles Chesbro home in Valley Wis marks Bjorklund’s birthday weekend. Chesbre notes his 30th milestone and identifies himself as the grandfather of Mrs. Bjorklund, highlighting family ties.
