Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Manning for Mrs. Erwin Studeman 79 who died Monday at her Benwick home after a long illness. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery with Blake Funeral Home directing. She was born Anna Pfalmmner in Davenport and married Erwin Studeman in 1903. They lived in Manning until 1944 before retiring to Renwick. She was a Methodist church member.

Funeral services for Arthur J Saxton 79 of Hardy will be held at Hardy Methodist Church Friday at 10:30 a.m. He is survived by his wife Erma Clark of Livermore a daughter Mrs Lew Brundage both of Riverside Calif and Phillip of El Sobrante Calif seven grandchildren two great grandchildren and a sister Mrs Ruth Lobdell Excelsior Minn. Open House for Dora Dean 80th birthday Sunday December 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. at her home. Church notices list Mary Circle and Ruth Circle meetings and a Christmas program, confirmations and worship services at local churches Renwick Baptist and ALCW workshop dates.
The American Legion members will meet Thursday evening December 1 at the Legion Hall at 8pm. Rev. and Mrs. Akos Papp Sr parents of Rev. Akos Papp pastor of Renwick FUB Church returned to Hungary this Wednesday from Chicago Airport after a three month visit in the United States with their son and family. Their Hungary address is Papp Akos Csavoly Bacs-Kiskun megye Hungary.
The Ruth Circle of St Paul Lutheran Church hosts an Oyster and Chili supper on Saturday December 3 from 5 to 7 30 pm with adults at 1 00 and children 75. The Belmond Lions donate 551 to the Tornado Fund, boosting the total near 3 000. The town recounts storm damage with one death and several injuries as rebuilding begins amid uncertain weather and delayed urban renewal hopes. Goodwill services rely on donations of usable clothing, with pickup planned December 5.

About 150 relatives signed the guest book at the Renwick event, with kitchen helpers listed and neighbors aiding. A Christmas postal notice urged early mailing, zip codes, and parcel care ahead of the Renwick posts office Christmas season. A December 7 elementary Christmas play is announced for 3:00 p.m. at the Renwick building with a cordial public invitation.
Boone Valley overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat Klemme 85-62 on Tuesday. Kent Swanson and Paul Giner sparked BV with a 21-point spree, Jim Schi-sull and teammates contributed as BV led 38-30 at halftime and expanded to 59-43 after three periods.
