Death of Once-Wealthy Man Remains Mysterious

An inquest follows the death of a once wealthy Reno man known as Dan Lawrence or Eliraduch Dan. Extra polling places provided for Reno wards two to four

County commissioners ordered additional polling sites in wards two through four and six noting the same buildings as current sites where possible. Four inspectors and two clerks will handle ballots. Aeronauts Escape After Balloon Conqueror Burst

Two American aeronauts narrowly escaped death when their balloon the Conqueror burst at about 4000 feet above Borlin. The envelope torn in five pieces with holes from roof contact. They recovered this morning and plan to ship the craft to New York tomorrow. A separate court action in May Phoenix v George Phenia over cruelty was overruled by Judge Orr.

Rawhide Jack Davis found guilty in cottage room assault

Rawhide Jack Davis, once claiming the title of Rawhide capitalist, was found guilty by Judge Bell of entering Jone Browning's Cottage on Peavine Street, tearing and destroying her clothes valued at about 500 dollars. He fled in a night gown to a livery stable, then police were alerted and Chief Burke, who witnessed Davis tossing clothes from a window, arrested him. Davis remained in city jail awaiting sentencing tomorrow at 10 o'clock. witnesses testified he was intoxicated.

Detroit Beats Chicago 8 to 3 in World Series Game Three

Detroit capitalized with heavy hitting to win 8 to 3 over Chicago in game three of the world championship series. Chicago scored only in one inning on a walk stolen base error and a triple, while Detroit extended its lead in the sixth and added two runs in the eighth.
