Cuyahoga Savings Bank Suspends Payments in Cleveland

In Cleveland on May 6 the Cuyahoga Savings Bank closed doors after a notice blamed the continued absence of treasurer R. N. Pollock. Iron Works Group Promise Statement May Be Delayed

New York May 6 The official statement promised in connection with a 1 4 ration of Union Iron Works Bath Iron Works Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock Company and Louis Nixon was made today by H W Poor & Company financing the group of bankers and brokers. The statement will be issued Wednesday and will outline a plan while withholding certain details until perfected.

Firebugs Arrested in Macon County Swindle Case

A six man and one woman alleged conspiracy to defraud insurance firms in southern Macon County led to five arrests. Reports say John Province and wife home burned March 22, with confessions by Donovan and the Province wife. The gang allegedly burned ten schoolhouses and terrorized Ardmore community, costing insurers about 400000.

Burlington Train Wreck Kills Engineer and Injures Dozens

A Burlington road passenger train struck a construction train at Thayer Iowa causing multiple wrecked cars. Five killed and about thirty injured include engineer Robert Brown and other crew. dining car and sleepers remained on track. Injured sent to Creston Hospital for treatment.

Cloud Burst Floods Fort Madison City

A cloud burst flooded Fort Madison streets to five feet. Mrs. Mary Carter, an elderly resident, drowned in her cellar as the city’s gas mains filled with water and darkness spread through the town.
