Chicago May 1 Leading packers report beef consumption fell about 37 1 2 percent since anti packer agitation began. Prices held steady as export orders filled. About 1,000 cattle remained unsold from yesterday and similar numbers expected today. April receipts ran about 14,000 head lower than a year ago while export business anticipated to clear today’s receipts.
