Pennsylvania Flood Destroys River Towns and Mills
Flooding along the Schuylkill and Allegheny rivers creates vast damage from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. The Schuylkill near Philadelphia swelled to twice normal width, inundating yards, depots, and mills while drowning several animals and forcing plant shutdowns. In Pittsburgh and Allegheny, streets flooded, mills closed, and tens of thousands affected as trains and traffic halted and police guard flooded districts.

New York March 1 Mr Marconi arrived in the city aboard the Philadelphia and announced that during his Atlantic crossing he could communicate with his station at Pold House Cornwall without difficulty up to 2699 miles, effectively bridging the ocean via wireless.

Prince Henry Rides On Engine Amidst Portage Stop

Charles N. Post as attorney general representative will travel to Sacramento and San Francisco for a rest before handling preliminary examinations for eight suspects held on Mary Lorenz’s complaint. The eight include F. E. Trowbridge, Orrin Trowbridge, Fred Roberts, Harry Roberts, Claud Marcus, Tuck Nichols, Joseph Leventon and J. R. Meyers. They were arrested January 10 on a warrant by Harrington and have not faced a preliminary exam. John Hutton and Claud Morris have confessed and remain in protective custody elsewhere.
