The Gazette reports Tonopah aims to reestablish a normal school after a lapse. A petition circulated to school boards and officials lists Fannie Holmes and Laurette Walsh among others. A meeting was held to assess feasibility, with more students expected to sign.
In the Second Judicial District Court of Nevada Washoe County case number 11707 Effie M. Barnes sues Fred D. Barnes for a divorce on grounds that the husband failed to provide basic life necessities. The summons dated June 3, 1916, requires the defendant to answer within ten to forty days depending on service location.
A report from Long Island New York notes Evelyn Marshall, now Mrs. Marshall Field 1h, awaiting a son at the Field lodge. The heir is projected to become a billionaire when reaching 59, with the fortune estimated at 350 million dollars today.
