Samuel Gompers is re elected president of the American Federation of Labor defeating John L Lewis with a heavy majority. The official vote totals show Gompers 26022 to Lewis 12324 with miners delegations split and large unions backing Gompers.
Tulsa police chief John A Gustafson and other department members were indicted by a grand jury in connection with the recent race riot. Indictments also named Roy Ward head of the automobile recovery department Roy Meacham traffic officer E F Waddell chief of Sand Springs police and EF E Williams Sand Springs officer.
In San Francisco a ruling examined the ownership of a four thousand share stock certificate of the Monidah Trust Company, worth about two million dollars. W. S. K. Brown, executor of the James A. Murray estate, presented the certificate alleging alteration and substitution of James E Murray’s name. Brown’s suit against Miss May A. Murray to recover promissory notes around two million dollars was dismissed on motion. Her attorneys said Brown failed to comply with statutes and provide copies of points and authorities.
An aerial coast defense station at the Presidio San Francisco was turned over to the air department of the Ninth corps area. The facility costing about 1,500,000 includes hangars machine shops and a supply station for army airplanes.

June 25 Lewis T. Grant of San Francisco was named region director of the bureau of war risk insurance for the District of California Arizona and Nevada. Grant, who served as a major in World War I, will take office immediately.
Former Senator J Hamilton Lewis filed a federal suit to recover bonded whiskey valued at 500,600 dollars stored in Chicago warehouses. Plaintiffs, distillers and warehouse owners, seek delivery of goods and an injunction against officials, arguing the Volstead and Day acts do not apply to whiskey deposited before passage and owned by the same holders. The case seeks to protect property without overturning prohibition laws.
In Toledo Ohio on June 25 eleven of thirteen defendants were convicted by a federal jury in the million dollar post office robbery. Judge John M Killits received the report at 9:30 this morning. Charles Furrier and John J Epps were found not guilty. Convicted defendants include Joseph Urbaytis George Lewis alias Rogers Charles Schultz James Sansome Pearl Sommers Emma Marvin Wanda Urbaytis Walter Foote Edwin Zeller Harry Thrush and Helen Furrier.
Acting Chairman Poindexter of the senate naval committee said the reprimand given to Rear Admiral Sims by Secretary Denby likely ends any independent inquiry into his London speech. A committee resolution by Senator Harrison of Mississippi proposed earlier is now moot.

Wright officiated as 200 guests attended, including Ambassador Wallace and Mrs. Wallace. Christine de Boisrouvray acted as the bridesmaid. Walter Berry served as best man.
West Hempstead New York June 27 7 Laurence Kubale a 26 year old farm laborer confessed to murdering Mrs Minnie Bartlett wealthy widow in her home last Wednesday He claimed he killed her with a chisel during a second visit while posing as a buyer of property He said he learned the house belonged to a wealthy widow and that she refused his request for money Kubale born in England has a wife and two children and has served short prison terms in New Jersey.
Athens June 25 Greece refused the combined mediation proposal from France Britain and Italy to halt hostilities with Turkish Nationalists in Asia Minor, declining to involve foreign powers in the Turkish Greek conflict as it stood.
Dispatch reports Ucn Pablo Gonzales at the head of seventy men breached into Mexico near Laredo. General Candido Aguilar and Juan Barragan arrived in the area with other Carrancista leaders. Rumors claim a half million dollar Carrancista fund and peace with Helsolias refugees in the United States.
New York July 25 Babe Ruth connected for his twenty sixth home run in the fifth inning of the Yankees versus Washington with one man on base.
A running battle in Chicago on June 25 between strikers bakers strike breakers and police left one picket wounded. Joseph Senecia was attacked by five men firing from a car as police tried to stop it. He was found wounded later, method of hit undetermined.
Washington June 25 former President Woodrow Wilson appeared in person today before Chief Justice McCoy of the District of Columbia supreme court to be admitted to practice law before that court. Court attendants said he is in better health since leaving the White House though still requires assistance from an attendant for enteritis and sides due to his motor car departure.
London dispatch reports both coal miners and mine owners accepted Prime Minister Lloyd George invitation to meet at the Board of Trade on Monday to seek a settlement of the three month coal strike. Also, a dispatch notes Italian and Polish troops clashed south of Keast, Upper Silesia.
A Baltimore house fire on East Fairmount avenue killed two women and two children and left three others badly burned. Victims include Mrs Meyer Sandler, 52, Mrs HaA Baron, 19, Doris Sandler 12, and Evelyn Silbert 6. Police reported undetermined origin.

Attorney General Fowler and deputy contest lack of jurisdiction and plan appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court, citing interference limits and state representation by the court.
Detroit June 25 The left wing of the Socialist party clashed over affiliation with the third Internationale of Moscow at the opening session. Louis Engdahl urged submission to Moscow and the banishment of reformists, while G A Hoehn denounced the Bolshevik government as a wrecking crew and attacked Gompers and runs. The party membership stood at 7,000, down 10,000 from last year. A telegram of sympathy was sent to Eugene Debs in Atlanta.
