Examinations Under Way as Public School Year Nears End

The public school pupils have been busy since Wednesday with year end examinations. Incoming superintendent Prof Alexander will assess advancement through higher departments and classes. Closing exercises are scheduled next week for Primary, Preparatory, and High School departments with specific times and local coordinators.

Picnic To Morrow At Steamboat Springs

Plans are complete for the Tom Verein picnic at Steamboat Springs with efforts by Charley Moeller to improve the grounds. The management promises a highly enjoyable outing for all attendees as the train departs Reno at a listed time.

Lovelock Mining Boom As Ferry Is Built

Lovelock reports a gold and mining boom as experts from the east descend on the nickle and cobalt mines near Cottonwood. A new ferry crosses Humboldt river near Lovelock after Oreana bridge became unusable, aiding transport for teams and wagons. Alfalfa crops are unusually heavy with haying underway. Joseph Marten and Marker Brothers operate many mowing machines.
