Clamp Curfew On Tel Aviv and Palestinian Frontier

JERUSALEM June 19 A large force of troops and police began scouring several Jewish settlements along the Lebanese frontier as the army clamped a strict curfew on Tel Aviv to aid the search for armed bandits who kidnapped five British officers. The border search 85 miles from Tel Aviv blocked all roads in the upper Galilee and cut telephone lines to prevent alarms. British engineers rebuilt the Jordan bridge between Palestine and Syria replacing the dynamited bridge of the Daughters of Jacobs raiders destroyed Sunday. In three days 18 have been killed and scores injured as terrorism rages on. Military authorities proclaimed all Jewish premises in Palestine out of bounds to British troops until the officers are freed. The ban covered bars theaters hotels and restaurants.
