It cites kidney disease liver trouble consumption cold rheumatism dyspepsia overwork and nervous debility and features a testimonial from W P Marshall of Logansport Indiana praising its benefits for his wife.
A Bay whale spouted near Napareek as Friday’s tides turned. Drowning near Le Moore, Tulare County, a workman fell from a scaffold and died. Drought bruises crops across Contra Costa, with wheat yields down forty percent. Two Chimamei and two Indians faced trial in Victoria and were sentenced to death. A carpenter in Oroville fell to his death while crossing joists. Six-shooter Jack, an outlaw, was shot by Montana men after a standoff that ended in minutes. Officials and dignitaries observed flag-raising as British ships arrived. A San Mateo worker was crushed when a tree felled him during timbering. A large San Jose structure housing G M Jarvis & Co. burned, causing about seven thousand dollars in damage, eight thousand insured. The Orange Mill, built in 1854, proved a costly failure and remains with Jarvis. A Maxwell assembly forms a 26000 dollar canal venture to explore Sacramento River water rights and future silvers for Tehama Colusa Solano Yolo route.
