Fire kills five in crowded New York tenement
Five persons burned to death early today in a large building at 347 East 115th Street New York most victims were children Teresa Dicicco 4 Camillo Dicicco 2 Alfredo Dicicco four months Francisca Stamanod 8 and Tiseppa Cipriano 24. Police believe the fire was incendiary with hallways covered in gasoline and rags soaked in fuel. Cipriano found on the top floor died after rescue attempts. Firemen initially could not reenter the blaze and later recovered three Dicicco bodies on the third floor. Authorities note a string of arson fires in the area.
